Our Story
Prodigals’ Home (PH), established in 1990, based in Dimapur, Nagaland is a Non-Governmental Organization, registered under the Registration of Societies Act 1860 (as amended vide Registration of Societies Act 1969). It is also registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 1976 and Section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961.
Prodigals’ Home basically emerged to address the issue of drug abuse, treatment, and Rehabilitation of drug addicts and alcoholics. Over the years, the Organization has ventured into the fields of Community Health, Women and Child Development, Rural Development, Research and Documentation and facilitation of Grass Root organizations in the region of North East India.
The Organisation works with people from diverse backgrounds* and on varied issues such as Health, Social, Economic, Rural Livelihood, Disability and Policy Advocacy. With the rising needs and challenges of the society, PH strived and continues to strive towards addressing issues of social, economic and health concerns.
The organisation gradually took up baseline surveys in various areas, research, documentation, and publication with the objectives to facilitate appropriate planning, policy making, and strategies that could lead to positive outputs, both at state and regional levels. “Sustainable Development and equitable social order through people’s participation” as its Vision/Mission, the organisation creates and disseminates the means for sustainable livelihood, proper management of resources, promote health and environment.
